About Harvey
“EVERY DISABILITY JOURNEY IS DIFFERENT”.
Harvey Matthewson is a public speaker and disability advocate based in the UK.
When Harvey was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy aged two, the prognosis was unclear, but bleak. Fast forward twenty years and Harvey has given most things a go. Everything from competing in dressage at a national level, to sitting on the Government’s Social Mobility Commission, becoming a private pilot aged 21, and most recently, solo travelling across South East Asia for two months.
During the past 10 years Harvey has spoken openly across a variety of platforms about building confidence, disability employment and living with a disability, taking examples from his own lived experience.
Harvey believes in a World where having a disability should be ‘no big deal’, and strives to create a society where those with and without a disability, are united in pursuit of a common cause.
Harvey’s common sense approach, openness and quick whit, ensures that his talks and training are well balanced and engaging, meaning that everybody leaves the room feeling motivated to help change this World to a place where everyone feels valued, respected and included.
